PRACTICE' Application Scenarios now on Youtube available

For the EU project PRACTICE - Privacy-Preserving Computation in the Cloud (FP7 PRACTICE-609611) Technikon has created a number of animations to illustrate some of the application scenarios. The most application scenarios - grouped thematically into four areas (joint business applications, joint studies applications, location sharing applications and end user applications) - are focused on secure multi-party computation (SMC), which allows to operate on the data without revealing the data itself. ECOSSIAN Project Start

On 1st June 2014 our team at Technikon started the FP7 ECOSSIAN-607577 project. ECOSSIAN (European Control System Security Incident Analysis Network) will develop a prototype system which facilitates preventive functions like threat monitoring, early indicator and real threat detection, alerting support of threat mitigation and disaster management in order to enhance the protection of critical infrastructures. 19 project partners from 10 different countries will work together in order to achieve this common goal. TECHNIKON at the "Trust in the Digital World (TDW)" Conference

This annual, independent, two-day industry conference is organized by TDL & EEMA with hosting partners Austrian Economic Chamber and City of Vienna and supported by DG CONNECT (European Commission) and ENISA. The conference will focus on public and private trust related to the European Cyber Security Strategy.
There was a mixture of practical demonstrations, presentations and panel discussions covering the key challenges, visions and strategies related to the European Cyber Security Strategy. Each panel discussion had representatives from Government & Policy Makers, Knowledge/research institutes and industry (use case studies).

Two new employees started to work at Technikon

In March 2014, Birgit Lederer from Kleblach/Lind, Carinthia in Austria and Christina Petschnigg from Ledenitzen, Carinthia in Austria startet to work at Technikon. Birgit joined the team as Project Assistant. Christina will support our research team, bringing in her background in cryptography and coding theory.

Technikon participated at the WiTEC general Assembly Meeting in Barcelona

The University of Bologna welcomed us on Friday April 4th to celebrate our first meeting in 2014. We had the opportunity to talk about the future of the association, about the online dissemination and future projects.

Two new employees started to work at Technikon

On January 2nd Marie-Therese Koschitz, MMA from Klagenfurt, and Barbara Nußbaumer, MA from Villach, Carinthia, Austria joined our team at Technikon. Marie graduated from the Fachhochschule Burgenland with a double Master Degree in „Project Management“ and „International Business Management“. Barbara graduated from the FH Joanneum in Graz with a Master Degree in „International Management“. Both are working within the Project Management Team. According to their education and working experiences they provide good knowledge in project management. We hereby welcome both in our team!

MAMMOET FP7 project started!

On January 1st 2014 our team at Technikon started the new FP7 project MAMMOET-619086 (MAssive MiMO for Efficient Transmission). MAMMOET will advance the development of Massive MIMO, a new and most promising direction in mobile access. Together with 7 project partners from 4 different countries we form a complete chain stretching from basic research and service design, via applied research, up to end-user oriented service providers.
